Kristin Fischer will join CNN as CNN's Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. In her role as Space and Defence Correspondent at CNN, she is responsible for covering all aspects of space, from NASA and its newly created Space Force up until commercial space-related companies and the advent and growth of tourism to space. Kristin's parents were each NASA astronauts. Kristin spent her childhood in space. She has also worked as an White House reporter for FOX News reporting on the Biden and Trump Administrations' positions in space matters. Kristin was also a reporter covering impeachment proceedings for the president as well as the presidential campaign for 2020 and the efforts of two administrations to combat the Coronavirus pandemic. Kristin travelled frequently, and both with the vice president and president. She was even on an extremely secret trip to Afghanistan along with Donald Trump. Kristin was a fixture in the regional news market of Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, and Washington, D.C. for over a decade before becoming a part of the CBS network. Kristin was the recipient of one Emmy Award in Washington, D.C. for her work as a CBS affiliate's single-man reporter. Kristin is also a skilled filmmaker, founded Field Mouse Films, a business that specialises in documentaries, for companies such as Uber and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin received her Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Boston University. She is married to her husband in Washington, D.C., and has a three-year old daughter.
